| 1881 to 1918 | History | | | Skinners | Wace's Wadhurst |
| The Kines, an old yeoman family, owned for many generations a group of six little farms altogether. Joseph Kine, who died in 1881, was the last so to hold them. His son Edward sold Pimlico to the then owner of Earles, and in 1901 he parted with Skinners, Beggar's Bush, and Olives to Edward Rayner, who built on Skinners, the new house, Beechlands. The other two farms were retained by Jabez Kine till 1918, when they were sold to E. J. Allen. On Rayner's death Beechlands was bought by E. M. Griffiths, and Beggar's Bush and Olives by F. Leete as an addition to the Bensfield property. |
